About My Work

I am very intentional about how I approach the library. I start with structure. Clear systems, thoughtful organization, and meaningful collaboration with teachers create a space where students know what to expect and feel comfortable taking risks. When that foundation is steady, the creative work grows naturally.

Before moving into library leadership, I spent years in the classroom, and I still think like a teacher first. The library is part of the instructional work of the school. Programming, space design, and collection decisions all connect back to student learning and to real partnerships with educators.

In my current role, I helped shape a Library and Innovation Center designed to balance structure with flexibility. Students move through clearly defined spaces while still having room to explore, create, and problem solve. Teachers know they have a collaborator who listens, plans with intention, and follows through. Consistency builds trust, and that trust makes innovation possible.

My professional growth right now is centered on deepening my instructional technology practice and continuing to evolve as an educator. I am working toward ISTE Educator Certification and expanding my toolkit in ways that support authentic learning, not just new tools for the sake of novelty. Technology works best when it strengthens strong pedagogy, and I approach it with the same intentional mindset I bring to the rest of my work.

I believe a strong library runs on purpose. Structure and creativity are not competing ideas. One allows the other to thrive. Students deserve spaces that feel calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. Educators deserve a partner who brings both organization and imagination to the work.

I bring a steady, reflective approach to leadership. I listen first, build systems that make sense for the community, and then help the library grow in ways that feel authentic and sustainable over time.

I am grateful to do this work, and I carry that gratitude to every student who walks through our doors.

My Why

Some of the most meaningful moments in my work happen quietly. A student finishes a book they didn’t think they could read. A group learns to revise an idea instead of walking away from it. A student who usually stays on the edges begins to step forward.

I care deeply about this work because access matters, and excellence should never be accidental. Students deserve learning spaces that are welcoming, structured, and intentionally designed with their needs in mind. When a library is thoughtfully built and consistently supported, it becomes a place where students feel capable, supported, and willing to try.

I feel a deep responsibility in this role to deliver excellence because my students and colleagues deserve no less. That responsibility shapes my decisions, my design of the space, and the way I show up each day. I’m grateful to do this work alongside students and teachers, and I carry that responsibility with purpose.
