Digital Responsibility &

Chromebook Care

Digital responsibility instruction focuses on helping students understand expectations, develop accountability, and care for shared technology across any device or platform. Teaching students how to care for shared technology is an essential part of digital literacy. In the library, this work centers on responsibility, respect, and helping students use technology confidently and independently throughout the school day.

Clear expectations are taught early and reinforced consistently. Students learn how to care for their Chromebooks, use technology appropriately, and take ownership of their choices. These expectations are framed as part of being a responsible member of the school community, not just a list of rules to follow.

My approach emphasizes learning over punishment. When issues arise, students are guided to reflect, problem-solve, and make better choices moving forward. This helps build accountability while maintaining trust and a shared sense of responsibility for learning tools.

I also design and implement systems that support Chromebook care across the building. These systems provide clarity for students and staff, reduce confusion, and help prevent problems before they happen. The goal is to keep technology accessible, functional, and focused on learning rather than discipline.
